Allen Hill Senior Vice President for UPS manages a human resources organization that serves more than 407 000 employees worldwide.
Committed to maintaining UPS’s reputation as an employer of choice Hill oversees the company’s strategy in training developing and retaining a diverse and highly-skilled workforce.
A native of Decatur Ala. Hill received his B.A. from David Lipscomb University in Nashville Tenn. and a J.D. from the Nashville School of Law.
While attending college Hill began his UPS career in 1976 as a part-time package loader and sorter. He held positions of increasing responsibility in operations and human resources before joining the legal group.
In 1988 Hill joined the legal department as attorney working with the human resources function. He was promoted six years later to coordinator of the corporate legal group. Hill became department manager of the corporate legal group in 1995. In 1999 he established UPS’s Core Counsel Network and worked on the company’s initial public offering. In 2004 he became General Counsel for the company and served in this role for two years.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities Hill is a member of the American Bar Association the Association of Corporate Counsel Tennessee Bar Association the Supreme Court Historical Society and the Advisory Board of the American Employment Law Council. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Policy Association the Board of Directors of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce the Board of Trustees of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. |
