Allen V. Brown is counsel to the firm in its Tax, Trusts & Estates Department. He concentrates his practice in general tax and estate planning. He also has experience in corporate transactions, commercial and financial transactions, real estate and securities law. A graduate of the University of Sheffield, England, Mr. Brown earned his law degree from Rutgers School of Law, Camden (1981). He also received an LL.M. in Tax from New York University School of Law (1989). A frequent lecturer and author on tax related issues, Mr. Brown is the author of a federal tax procedure course published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and lectures on this topic nationally to Certified Public Accountants as part of the state CPA societies' continuing professional education requirement. Mr. Brown is also the author of the publication "Getting the Most Out of Zero GRATs," 20 Tax Management Estates, Gifts and Trusts Journal 169 (1995) and "Coping With the Demise of the Zero GRAT," 12 Journal of Taxation of Investments 293 (1995). He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Tax Court. |
