Mr. Leverett joined Wisconsin Energy on July 1, 2003, as chief financial officer. In May 2004, he was named executive vice president of Wisconsin Energy and We Energies.
Prior to joining the company, he served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of Georgia Power Co. in Atlanta, Ga. Before that, Mr. Leverett was vice president and treasurer of Southern Company Services with overall responsibility for financial planning and analysis, capital markets and leasing, treasury and investor relations. Previously, he held a variety of positions in transmission planning, integrated resource planning, strategic planning, wholesale marketing and finance.
He holds a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in electrical engineering and mathematics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn.; a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, Palo Alto., Calif., and a Master of Business Administration degree with a finance concentration from Auburn University, Auburn, Ala.
Mr. Leverett was recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal in 2005 in the publication’s special section, 40 Under Forty. This special section highlights individuals under 40 years of age who are making a difference in their professions and in their communities.
Mr. Leverett is a director of American Transmission Company and Energy Insurance Mutual, a mutual insurance company for the energy and utility industry.
