As vice president for strategic programs, Harry Ludgate is responsible for strategic project planning for Dow Corning’s investment to create a world class integrated dimethyl siloxane site at Zhangjiagang in China.
Ludgate was the first executive leader of Dow Corning’s Service Enterprise Unit (SEU) which was created in 1999 to function as a global shared service unit. Under his direction, the total solutions approach to materials and services, combined with increased focus on standardization of work processes have led to better and more consistent customer service worldwide.
This achievement was a key contributory factor in Dow Corning being selected by Frost and Sullivan for its 2006 Customer Service Innovation of the Year Award. In addition, Dow Corning customers highly value the environmental, health and safety and analytical science capabilities delivered through the SEU.
Ludgate joined Dow Corning’s Barry, Wales, site in 1973 as a manufacturing engineer, and subsequently held a variety of roles in quality, manufacturing, materials flow, and economic evaluation. Over the years, he held progressively more challenging positions, including Information Technology Director for Europe, European area vice president and executive director of Information Technology & Knowledge Management and Chief Information Officer.
Ludgate holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge. |
