Alisia Grenville was born in Montreal, Canada in 1967. She graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario with an honor’s degree in French and Italian and from the University of Sussex with a bachelor in law (LLB).
Between 1999 and 2004, Grenville worked in top-tier American law firms as a corporate associate, specializing in bank finance, capital markets and M&A transactions, as well as governance, based in both New York and Frankfurt.
In 2004, Grenville became a Senior Compliance Officer at Zurich Financial Services in Zurich. In 2005, she became the Head of Legal Compliance for Serono, S.A. in Geneva. As part of her extensive mandate, Grenville developed and implemented a legal compliance program for both the International and European regions of the company.
Grenville is a sought-after speaker in both Europe and North America, having been invited to speak at such conferences as the American Bar Association on Fraud and Bribery and the Associate of Corporate Counsel and the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association. She has also written articles regarding legal career development and has founded the organization Getting on Board, which helps to steer women professionals into executive and leadership positions.
In December 2007, Alisia Grenville joined STMicroelectronics as Corporate Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer. Reporting directly to CEO, her role is to maintain relations with stock exchange related regulatory bodies on all compliance issues. Grenville is also in charge of the Executive Secretariat of the Supervisory Board, performs the Company’s Internal Audits and chairs the Company’s Ethics Committee.
