Alfredo M. Hopgood-Jovet is a Capital Member of the Firm and Chairman of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group.
Practice and Experience
His practice concentrates in labor and employment law, including counseling and litigation in areas such as employment discrimination, disability, workers' compensation and other leaves of absences, wage and hour, mergers and acquisitions, individual rights, labor arbitration and employment termination.
Education
In 1983, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico. He holds a Juris Doctor Degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
Admissions
He is admitted to the practice of law in the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Memberships
He is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Association of Labor Relations Practitioners. Mr. Hopgood has been a guest speaker for the Society for Human Resources Management, Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association, Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, and the Comité de Patronos. |
