Alexis Schuler has spent the past twelve years working at the intersection of politics and policy in Washington, D.C. She joined CLS in the spring of 2006, where she currently provides strategic counsel to the Coalition for Patent Fairness and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Previously, Alexis served as the Communications Director for the Alliance for Justice during the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito where she developed and implemented a communications strategy in coordination with a coalition of more than forty progressive organizations. Prior to her work with Alliance for Justice, Alexis ran her own political research and communications consulting firm providing strategic advice to Presidential, Senatorial, and Gubernatorial candidates. During the 2000 election cycle, Alexis was the Research Director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Alexis has also worked on congressional and senatorial campaigns including Senator Patty Murray’s 1998 reelection campaign. Alexis has also served as Legislative Director for Senator Robert Torricelli and as the Director of Government Affairs for AIDS Action, a national healthcare advocacy organization, where she was the primary spokesperson. Alexis received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Zoology and Paleontology from the University of California at Berkeley, and conducted graduate work in Biology at the University of New Mexico. |
