Alexis Patterson joined CBS 42 as a reporter in August 2007. A Dallas native, Alexis is thrilled to continue her career in the Lone Star State. Alexis studied Radio-Television-Film, Communications and French at Texas Christian University, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Her first job was in Dallas/Fort Worth as a writer/producer, and while she enjoyed her work, she left to pursue an on-air career as a reporter. Alexis moved to Beaumont immediately after Hurricane Rita hit the area, creating quite a memorable first week. "Because of the hurricane, there was no housing available," she says. "I ended up living in a trailer in the station parking lot for several days." Alexis is excited to be in Austin, with its political atmosphere, great outdoors and shopping (which was a little limited in Southeast Texas). She is very close to her family in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. |
