Alexandria (Alex) Marren is United's Vice President of Operational Services, United Express and Ted. She is based at the company’s operations center in suburban Chicago.
Named to the position in May 2006, she oversees United's day-to-day operations, including systems operations control, flight dispatch and operations analysis. Marren is also responsible for the overall performance of Ted® and United Express®, both integral business units and product lines within United's overall portfolio strategy.
Prior to her current position, Marren served as vice president of Airport Operations-East, where she was responsible for United’s eastern most airport operations in North America and the Caribbean, including Washington Dulles International Airport, one of United’s five major hubs and one of its fastest growing international gateways. She directed the operational performance, customer processing, baggage handling and ramp operations for 49 airports, comprising more than 800 daily flights, including both United and United Express.
Marren has held numerous managerial and leadership positions at United’s world headquarters and at airports in the United States and in Athens, Greece. She joined the company in 1987 as a supervisor in Customer Service and assumed various leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including director of Customer Service Planning, during which time she was responsible for implementation of new technology and service initiatives to improve the overall customer experience at airports worldwide. Prior to joining United, she served as manager of Customer Service for People Express Airlines in Newark, N.J., and Chicago, Ill.
