Dr. Alex Balkanski is a general partner at Benchmark Capital. He led C-Cube and DiviCom, two pioneering companies that drove the MPEG standard to dominance in consumer electronics and broadcasting. Alex founded C-Cube in 1988, taking it public in 1994, and acquiring DiviCom in 1998. By 2000, C-Cube generated a half-billion dollars in annual revenue and had 1,200 employees worldwide. In addition to Xoomsys, Alex serves on the Boards of Decru, Entrisphere, Infinera, Pedestal Networks and Picarro. Alex holds a Ph.D. and a master's degree from Harvard University as well as a B.S. from Harvard College. |
