Alexander S. Choinski is a fourth-year associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and a member of the firm's Project Finance Group.
Mr. Choinski's recent experience includes representing an international and Nigerian commercial bank lending syndicate in the $600 million project financing of Nigerian offshore oil fields sponsored by Mobil Producing Nigeria and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; representing the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and a syndicate of commercial lenders in the $1.2 billion NGL II natural gas liquids expansion project sponsored by Mobil Producing Nigeria and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; representing Babcock & Brown in the acquisition of a portfolio of renewable energy projects in the United States; representing KGen Partners LLC in its $450 million refinancing of a portfolio of merchant power facilities acquired from Duke Energy; representing the Export-Import Bank of the United States in various matters relating to the financing of the 278 MW Naco Nogales independent power station in Mexico; and representing bondholders in a $400 million debt restructuring associated with the acquisition of Movicom, a major Argentine telecom company, by Telefónica Móviles, S.A.
Mr. Choinski earned his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University, which he attended on academic scholarship and where he earned the distinction of High Honors in Public Policy. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Choinski served as a political and public policy professional for almost ten years, with experience encompassing government service, political campaigning and, most recently, government relations for a national trade group and a major non-profit organization.
Mr. Choinski is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and the District of Columbia Bar. He is fluent in Spanish, as a native speaker of Argentine ancestry, and can proficiently read Portuguese and Italian. |
