Lexander E. Gasser is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Group. He has experience in patent litigation before various district courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in complex patent interference proceedings before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He has litigation experience in several technologies, including pharmaceuticals, computer software, various mechanical arts, and electrical devices. Prior to joining Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, Mr. Gasser spent several years in a general litigation firm, during which time he gained first and second chair jury trial experience, first-chair summary judgment hearing experience, and conducted over 30 depositions, including expert witness depositions.
Mr. Gasser graduated cum laude from Marquette University's Law School, where he served as Associate Editor of the Marquette Law Review. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John L. Coffey of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He received a B.A. degree from Cornell University, and has concluded additional course work in organic chemistry at George Mason University.
Admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar, Mr. Gasser is licensed to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Federal Circuits and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. He is also a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. His association memberships include the American Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
After living in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium for a total of eighteen years, Mr. Gasser is also fluent in German. |
