Alex Tkachenko, Ph.D. joined Hana in October 2005 as a Senior Director, Business Development and Operations Planning. In December 2006, he was named Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning. At Hana, Alex is responsible for product licensing and partnership management. Prior to joining Hana, he was with Genentech where, as an Associate Director in Development organization, Alex was tasked with maximizing clinical benefit from Genentech’s therapeutics by improving patient selection and trial design. In this role, Alex led the team which designed the company-wide Companion Diagnostics initiative, oversaw hiring of 22 FTEs across the company, and was responsible for the $7.5M external collaboration budget. Earlier, as Product Manager for Rituxan, Genentech’s flagship oncology drug, Alex led a cross-functional effort to prepare the brand for the impact of Medicare reimbursement reform. Alex has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He was a squad leader in the Soviet Army and completed a tour of combat duty in Afghanistan. |
