Alex Nashman was appointed Vice-president, Network Operations in May 2007. Prior to this, he held the position of Vice-president, Operations, Western Region.
Mr. Nashman joined CN in 1979 in Edmonton, and held progressively responsible positions in yard operations throughout Edmonton Terminal. He undertook CN's operations training program in 1987, and subsequently worked as a trainmaster and assistant superintendent in Edmonton and B.C. North. In 1995, he was promoted through Network Operations, Car Management, and Service Design in Montreal, and, in 1998, was named director, Service Design in Edmonton. In 2000, he was promoted to general superintendent, Transportation in the Network Operations Centre, and became general manager, Network Operations in 2004. In addition to his many field and network positions, Mr. Nashman played leadership roles in a number of corporate initiatives, including the new operating plan of 1998 and the Chicago service plan redesign of 1997. |
