Alex Craigie is a litigator recognized for his innovative, cost-effective and, where necessary, highly aggressive approach to dispute advocacy. His practice focuses on general business, construction and real estate litigation, as well as the regional and national defense of product liability suits brought against automotive, consumer and industrial equipment manufacturers.
In 2004, Alex was recognized as a Rising Star, by Law & Politics magazine. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, he was named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Los Angeles magazine in the area of General Litigation. He holds an AV Peer Review rating by Martindale-Hubbell (denoting Very High to Preeminent Legal Ability and Very High Ethical Standards).
Alex has practiced before Federal District and state courts throughout California, as well as pro hac vice admission in Alaska, Utah, Colorado and Washington. Additionally, he has significant experience successfully resolving matters through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques and processes, including mediation, binding and nonbinding arbitration.

Contractual disputes relating to sale of goods, employment, franchise arrangements, commissions and real property transactions.
Disputes between Department of Real Estate-licensed brokers and clients.
Disputes arising from real estate straw buyer transactions.
Creditor/Debtor adversary proceedings, through trial, in the United States Bankruptcy Court.
Claims of tortuous interference with existing or prospective contractual and/or economic advantage.
Claims of unfair competition, including those brought under Business & Professions Code Section 17200 and related statutes.

Claims of fraudulent or negligent misrepresentation.
Claims for libel and slander.
Construction disputes, including those relating to alleged defects in the design or manufacture of structures ranging from single family homes to large scale residential subdivisions to high-rise office towers.
Product liability disputes concerning the design, manufacture, testing and warnings of automobiles, including vehicle handling, stability, crashworthiness, fuel system integrity, electrical system, roof crush, seat belt and airbag-related claims.
Product liability claims involving the design, manufacture, testing and warnings of forklifts, industrial equipment and consumer power tools and goods.
The defense of claims brought against automobile manufacturers for breach of express or implied warranties, including suits brought under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
Alex has assisted product developers and manufacturers in developing warnings and instruction manuals.
Alex has written and lectured on California's Consumer Expectation test for design defect. While in law school, he was a Member of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, and authored "Burial of Tort: The California Supreme Court's Treatment of Tortious Mishandling of Remains in Christensen v. Superior Court," 26 Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review 909 (1993). He was formerly a Partner with the Michigan-based firm Feeney Kellett Wienner & Bush.
Alex has acted as pro bono counsel on behalf of disenfranchised tenants, victims of domestic violence and victims of natural disasters, including the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. He currently volunteers as pro bono counsel for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Immigration Legal Assistance Project.
