Alex Kral, PhD, is an infectious disease epidemiologist with expertise in community-based, multisite research with urban poor populations. He is currently the principal investigator of a new NIDA-funded study of sexual risk among women who use methamphetamine, principal investigator on an NIDA-funded study evaluating the impact of an integrated health resource center for homeless persons, co-principal investigator of a NIDA-funded study evaluating the effectiveness of syringe exchange programs among injection-drug users, and co-investigator on an anthropological study of social networks of homeless heroin addicts. Dr. Kral has authored and coauthored more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, American Journal of Epidemiology, American Journal of Public Health, AIDS, Journal of AIDS, Addiction, and Journal of Drug Issues. |
