Alene Haskell is a member in the St. Louis Litigation Department, with specialties in labor and employment law and employee benefits litigation. She joined Husch & Eppenberger in 1980.
Alene provides training, counseling, and advice to employers concerning employment issues, such as employment policies and practices, application of the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, as well as intellectual property protection through noncompetition, nonsolicitation, and confidentiality agreements, together with trade secret protection. She defends employment discrimination charges and claims. Alene provides training to company management on topics such as sexual harassment, Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Department of Labor regulations, effective hiring, reviewing, discipline and termination, and other management issues.
Alene also has a substantial practice in the areas of employee benefits and health law litigation, including defense of ERISA class actions, defense of HIPAA and other privacy disputes, and defense of disputes relating to enforcement and propriety of a wide range of health care contracts and practices.
