Alena Horská received a M.S. and Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, Czech Republic, and a M.S. in biotechnology from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. In 1992, she was awarded a research fellowship by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, MD. In 1997 she joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she is currently an Assistant Professor.
Her current research projects include development of proton MR spectroscopic imaging techniques with applications to studies of brain metabolism in aging, cancer, and metabolic disorders, and applications of phosphorus MR spectroscopy to studies of energy metabolism in fatty liver disease. |
