Alastair Imrie joined British Aerospace in February 1989 as HR Director responsible for the Chadderton and Woodford sites (7000 employees).
Subsequent appointments have included Managing Director, M&A Operations; Managing Director, Merger Integration (merger integration of British Aerospace Marconi Electronic Systems); and Commercial Director for Commercial Aerospace activities and operation/ general management roles.
In January 2002, Alastair was appointed Group Managing Director responsible for establishing a Shared Services business within BAE Systems. Shared Services has responsibility for Property and Environmental Services, Advanced Technology Centres, Indirect Procurement (£700M spend annually), Enterprise IT Services, e-Business, Workplace Services, University Partnerships, Technology Brokering, Insurable Risk Services and Corporate Air Travel.
In January 2003 Alastair became Group HR Director and a member of the BAE Systems Executive Committee while retaining responsibility for Shared Services. He was also appointed Chairman of the Scottish Advisory Board on its formation in December 2003.
Alastair was born in 1947 in Dundee, Scotland and is married with four children. |
