Alan Venook, M.D. is an experienced and accomplished clinical investigator in the management of gastrointestinal malignancies. He is well known for his clinical research of new modalities to treat both primary and metastatic tumors of the liver and has led multiple cooperative group trials studying the use of chemotherapeutics in patients with liver disease. He is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, where he leads the Gastrointestinal Oncology clinical program, the Hepatobiliary Program within the Comprehensive Cancer Center, and is the Director of the UCSF / Mt. Zion Cancer Center Clinical Research Office. He has published more than 50 original articles, chapters or books dealing with gastrointestinal malignancies. |
