In 1983 Alan formed Pearpoint Ltd in the United Kingdom to concentrate on the application of the then emerging CCD technology into rugged and robust products. In 1987 he formed Pearpoint Inc in California and in 1990 relocated to California to head the company as CEO remaining Chairman of the UK based Pearpoint Holdings PLC. In 2000 Pearpoint Holdings including Pearpoint Image Processing Systems (PIPS) Division was sold to United Dominion Industries of Charlotte NC. In 2001 he repurchased both UK and US Divisions of Pearpoint Image Processing Systems from SPX Corporation. His notable successes include; the United Kingdom Design Council Award for the design of the Pearpoint flexiprobe system; Two Queen’s Awards for Innovation and numerous patents |
