Alan Safahi is the President and CEO of Card Express Int'l. (CardEx), an Irvine, California pioneer in the prepaid debit card industry. Alan has over 20 years experience in starting up and managing high technology and financial services businesses. Prior to CardEx, Alan founded two start-ups from 1985 to 1995: Beta Tech, a Los Angeles computer hardware/software company, and California Commuter (CalCom), an Irvine telecommunications firm. Alan received his B.S. degree in engineering from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) and his M.B.A. from University of Southern California (USC). He has returned to Cal State Fullerton in recent years as an Entrepreneur in Residence and an advisor to the university's Small Business Institute. Alan is a member of Tech Coast Angels (TCA), the largest angel network in the U.S. He is an active member of, and frequently speaks to, several trade associations including Banking Industry Association (BIA). |
