As President and Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield's Residential Operations, Alan Norris manages Brookfield's land and housing operations in Calgary, Edmonton, Denver, Austin and Toronto. Alan joined the company in 1983 in the role of Corporate Controller and assumed increasingly more senior positions over the next 11 years until he was promoted to his current position.
Well-known and respected in the land development and home building industry, Alan initiated the creation of the Centre of Excellence in Home Building & Land Development in 1998 and now chairs this not-for-profit center, which is a central voice for the training and education needs of the residential construction industry. In addition, in 1997-1998, he co-chaired an industry/provincial government/municipal government joint task force on infrastructure funding. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Brookfield Homes Corporation. Alan holds a B.A. degree in accounting and economics and two Chartered Accountant Designations in Scotland and Canada. |
