Mr. La Borwit attended the University of Miami where he graduated in 1972 and received his BBA with a major in Marketing. Originally from the Washington D. C. area, he and his wife moved back to Florida in 1979. He subsequently obtained his Florida Real Estate and Mortgage Brokerage licenses and over a span of 20 years, provided services including the sale and /or financing of commercial real estate that included retail, office, hospitality, residential, warehouse/flex space and land. In 1998 Mr. La Borwit expanded into development and was employed by a Real Estate Investment Trust, specializing in the acquisition and development of grocery anchored shopping centers in the State of Florida. His responsibilities included ground up development starting with site selection, contract negotiations, due diligence, financial analysis/budgeting, entitlements/permitting, and tenant negotiations for development of these projects. Six such projects were completed during his tenure. In 2003 Mr. La Borwit elected to pursue independent development and brokerage until joining Konover in December, 2005. |
