Alan Krigstein is the Senior Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer for Keystone Mercy Health Plan. In this role, Mr. Krigstein is responsible for leading and overseeing all corporate financial functions. These financial areas include accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, cash management, strategic planning, payroll, accounts payable, actuarial services, and internal audit. He also oversees the purchasing, facilities and security departments.
In 1994, Mr. Krigstein joined Keystone Mercy’s predecessor, Mercy Health Plan, as the Vice President of Finance. At that time, Mercy Health Plan served 150,000 members. Today, Keystone Mercy Family of Companies provides managed care services to more than 2 million members.
In addition to managing a professional staff of 110 associates, Mr. Krigstein works closely with Keystone Mercy's Board of Directors and senior management of Independence Blue Cross and Mercy Health System, Keystone Mercy’s parent companies. He is also responsible for the partnership relationships for the Keystone Mercy affiliated plans: AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Horizon NJ Health in New Jersey; and Gateway Health Plan in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a key member of the new business development and expansion opportunities for Keystone Mercy with responsibility for financial management oversight. In addition to serving as a strategic business advisor for the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Keystone Mercy, Mr. Krigstein works closely with Departments of Insurance, Departments of Public Welfare, and the State Regulators for each line of business to ensure the best value for each State’s funding for Medicaid.
Since 1999, Mr. Krigstein has guided the implementation of the Company's PeopleSoft Enterprise Planning Resource System for both the financial and human resources management systems. PeopleSoft enables the organization to better support fundamental managed care administration, while improving service capabilities for members, providers, business partners and associates.
Prior to joining Keystone Mercy, Mr. Krigstein held various financial positions in the health care industry, including Director of Managed Care with St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware; Director of Finance with Delaware Valley HMO; and Chief Financial Officer for Healthcare Delaware, Inc. In 2001, he was nominated for the CFO Excellence Award sponsored by CFO magazine. Mr. Krigstein earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware. |
