Alan Clelland has served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Transportation Systems division of Iteris since October 2007. Mr. Clelland has over 30 years of experience in transportation engineering and traffic control and management. From 1998 to 2007, Mr. Clelland joined Craig Gardner as a partner in Gardner Systems, which was acquired by Siemens in 2000. Under the new Siemens ITS organization which resulted from this acquisition, Mr. Clelland held the role of Marketing Director, then took over as Director of the Consulting Group which is the professional services arm of the firm. In 1987, he moved to the United States to join JHK’s newly formed Systems Division in Atlanta, GA. He then moved to establish the Los Angeles office for JHK in 1989 and was Project Manager for some of the most innovative ITS projects in Southern California. Following JHK’s acquisition by SAIC, Alan became responsible for all the firm’s activities on the West Coast (transportation planning and engineering offices in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Tucson and San Diego) and later became Director of Marketing for the newly formed TransCore company. Prior to 1985, Mr. Clelland’s work included local government traffic engineering, university research, manufacturing and consulting in the UK, Portugal, Mexico, and the Netherlands.
