Alan Armstrong serves as President of Midstream. He is responsible for the operations of all
Midstream assets in Canada the United States and Venezuela.
Previously Armstrong served as Vice President of Gathering and Processing from 1999-2002;
Vice President of Commercial Development and Alliances from 1998-99; Vice President of Retail
Energy Services from 1997-98 and Director of Commercial Operations for Williams Field
Services’ Gulf Coast from 1995-97. He joined Williams in 1986 as an engineer.
Education
Armstrong graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1985 with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Civil Engineering.
Industry/Community Leadership
Armstrong has been active with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and serves on the
Board of Directors and the Executive & Finance Committee for the Gas Processors Association.
Armstrong also serves as a member of the University of Oklahoma’s College of Engineering
Board of Visitors. In the community Armstrong has served as the Energy Division Chair for
the Tulsa United Way is a board member for Goodwill Industries Junior Achievement the Jenks
Public School Foundation and The Williams Foundation coaches youth sports and works with his
wife in supporting the Center for the Physically Limited in Tulsa.
Speaking Experience
Armstrong has spoken at numerous energy conferences and seminars including the Gas
Processors Association Pipe Liner Clubs and the National Energy Association. He has also
presented at the Canada Energy Symposium and has been a Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission panel speaker on gathering deregulation.
