Alan S. Petlak joined the firm in 2005 and is Of Counsel in the firm’s litigation department. Mr. Petlak specializes in real estate and commercial counseling and litigation. He has handled litigation matters in federal and state courts and before various arbitration bodies in disputes involving, among other things, mixed-use facilities, office buildings (both inside and outside of California), manufacturing facilities, shopping centers and the hotel industry. He also counsels clients prior to and in order to avoid the onset of litigation.
In addition, Mr. Petlak has represented clients in securities related matters in federal and state courts, in arbitrations before the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. and in connection with regulatory matters brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Petlak received his J.D. in 1995 from the University of Southern California Law Center and his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego.
Mr. Petlak is a member of the L.A. County Bar Association and the American Bar Association (Section of Business Law). He is a licensed California real estate broker and is a member of the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors.
Mr. Petlak has been a practicing member of the State Bar of California since his admission in 1995.
