Mr. Prosswimmer joined the firm as a Managing Director in 1989. He brings to Benefit Capital a unique balance and perspective on Employee Stock Ownership Plans derived from his four and one half years as Chief Financial Officer of Weirton Steel Corporation, one the nation's most successful employee-owned industrial corporations. His background provides a wealth of practical experience in the complex elements of plan design and repurchase liability analysis and in the sophisticated and sensitive techniques of effective communications and employee involvement.
Prior to joining Weirton, Mr. Prosswimmer served 11 years with ITT, as VP/Comptroller and VP/Treasurer of ITT Rayonier Incorporated, where he directed all financial functions and played a key role in strategic planning and in engineering both acquisitions and divestitures. His earlier experience included 13 years with Corning Glass Works in a wide variety of increasingly responsible operating and financial positions.
Mr. Prosswimmer received his A.B. in Psychology from Amherst College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He has taught management and financial courses at the Cornell School of Industrial Management and Elmira College. He is an active member of the ESOP Association and the National Center for Employee Ownership. |
