Alan J. Zakon has served as a Director of the Corporation since 1988, Chairman of the Audit Committee since 1997 and on the Compensation and Benefits Committee since 1997 and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee since January 2004. Since 1995, he has been the Vice Chairman and a Director, and since November 1997, Chairman of the Executive Committee, of Scientific Games Corporation, a New York-based global gaming and simulcasting company. Dr. Zakon served as Managing Director of Bankers Trust Corporation from 1989 to 1995 where he was Chairman of the Strategic Policy Committee. Dr. Zakon is a Director of Arkansas-Best Freight Corporation, a nationwide commercial transportation and trucking company and a Director of InfraRedx, a privately held medical research and development company. Dr. Zakon holds a B.A. from Harvard University, an M.S. in Industrial Management from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from the University of California at Los Angeles.
