Alan B. Levan is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of BankAtlantic Bancorp (NYSE: BBX), and the holding company of BankAtlantic. Mr. Levan also serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Levitt Corporation (NYSE:LEV), BFC Financial Corporation (NYSE:BFF) and Chairman of Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE: BXG). A resident of Broward County in South Florida, Mr. Levan is currently a member of the Nova Southeastern University Board of Trustees and former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Broward Community College Foundation. Mr. Levan established the BankAtlantic Foundation which supports a wide array of activities in the arts, education, social welfare, and community and economic development. In addition, he spearheaded BankAtlantic's commitment to provide ongoing support to realize the goal of Habitat for Humanity to eliminate substandard and poverty housing in Florida. He is the recipient of the Spirit of Humanity Award, as well as, the Nova Southeastern University Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame Award, 2004 Cutting Edge Award and received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the state of Florida in 2003.
