Alain Monie serves as executive vice president of Ingram Micro Inc. and president, Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for the company's operations in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Monie became president of the company's Asia-Pacific region in January 2004. He joined Ingram Micro Inc. in February 2003 as executive vice president, bringing more than 28 years of international corporate experience to the company's executive team.
As a corporate executive for renowned international companies, he has played a leading role in building successful organizations throughout the world. Monie spent two-and-one-half years as president of the Latin American division of Honeywell International, responsible for all countries from Mexico to Chile and the Caribbean. He joined Honeywell through the corporation's merger with Allied Signal Inc., where he built a 17-year career on three continents, progressing from a regional sales manager to head of Asia-Pacific operations.
Prior to joining Honeywell, Monie spent 12 years in Asia, leading Allied Signal's expansion into China and enhancing its presence in India. He held general management positions with Sogitec Inc., a French aerospace simulation corporation, and was a controller for Renault, a French automotive firm. He began his career in Mexico City as a civil construction engineer.
Monie was educated in France, earning an MBA from the Institut Superieur des Affaires in Jouy en Josas. He received high honors in his Automation engineering studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts et Metiers. Fluent in three languages, Monie works easily with a variety of cultures and business models. |
