Alain Maquet is senior vice president, Ingram Micro Inc. and president, Ingram Micro Latin America. A 23-year veteran of the information technology industry, Maquet is responsible for driving the region’s strategy and performance with full operations in Mexico, Brazil, Chile and an export division that serves Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Maquet joined Ingram Micro in 1993 as managing director of France and, a year later, was appointed to vice president of Ingram Micro’s southern European operations. In early 2000, Maquet added additional countries to his responsibilities when he was promoted to senior vice president Ingram Micro France, Benelux and Export.
In October 2000, Maquet was honored at Eurochannels 2000, a prestigious pan-European IT channel conference, when he was presented the Eurochannels Innovator Award for Most Outstanding European Leader.
Prior to his current position as president of Ingram Micro’s Latin America region, Maquet held the post of senior vice president, southern and western Europe, with overall responsibility for Ingram Micro’s operations in France, Belgium, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain, as well as a sales office in Portugal.
Maquet began his career in 1977 as a market research consultant in Paris, France. In 1982, he co-founded and served as sales and marketing director of ISE-Cegos, which grew to become France’s leading IT products distributor. Maquet was with ISE-Cegos until 1992, during which time he became the company’s managing director and was also appointed president of two of ISE Group’s largest subsidiaries: Software Partners and Netcom. |
