Akira Hirose joined ORIX in 1979 after beginning his career at Hokkaido Colliery & Steamship Co. Ltd. in 1975. After a number of positions in the company he was made the Branch Manager of the Mito Branch Office in October 1990 Branch Manager of the Sendai Branch Office in February 1994 and Branch Manager of the Shinjuku Branch Office in February 1998. Hirose became the Head of Sales Headquarters of ORIX Capital Corporation in September 1999 and was appointed Managing Director of ORIX Capital Corporation in April 2000 before assuming his present position as President of ORIX Capital Corporation in May 2004. In January 2007 Hirose was promoted to the position of Group Executive.
