Ajit Thampy is a Partner in Allen Austin's Life Sciences and Technology practice. He provides executive search consulting for companies in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Health Insurance, Hospital, and High-Technology sectors. He executes searches with a keen awareness that only companies that create great teams can compete and win in today's interdependent world economy.

He has over 15 years of combined experience in the life sciences and technology industries. Prior to joining Allen Austin, Ajit was Senior Manager in Informatics at Millennium Pharmaceuticals where he worked for almost five years. He was involved in building and managing electronic document management systems, which the company uses to submit drug applications to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other worldwide regulatory agencies. He is well informed about the drug development process and about the US pharmaceutical sector.

Previously, Ajit worked as a lead consultant for First Consulting Group (FCG), a provider of services to Life Sciences companies. While at FCG, he worked on assignments at Amgen, Aventis, Johnson & Johnson, and Merck. At Millennium and at the other pharmaceutical companies, he worked closely with functional groups such as Regulatory Operations, Clinical, Non-clinical, Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC), Finance, Sourcing, and Information Technology.

Prior to FCG, Ajit worked for DMR Consulting Group, now part of Fujitsu, the Japanese multinational. At DMR, he worked on assignments for AT&T, Department of Health for New York City, and American Express. He has a certificate in Project Management from Boston University, and he has earned the designation of Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
