Dr. Aiping Young was a cofounder with Dr. Wright of GeneSense Technologies Inc. and has served most recently as a member of the Board of Directors and held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Lorus and previously as Vice President of Research and Development at GeneSense until its merger with Lorus. Dr. Young also previously held the positions of Senior Scientist Group Leader and Medical and Scientific Advisor for Pias Corporation in Japan where she was also in charge of medical activities for that company. Having published two books and numerous scientific papers in diverse bioscience areas (e.g. physiology molecular biology pharmacology and cell biology) Dr. Young brings to Lorus a unique combination of talents in the clinical and scientific research fields. In addition Dr. Young has co-authored several key patent applications that have come out of the research activities of the Company. She is a graduate in Medicine from Jiangxi Medical College in China (1979) holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Toyama Medical & Pharmaceutical University in Japan (1989) has been a Research Associate at the University of Manitoba and has held the position of an Adjunct Scientist at the Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology in The Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation in Winnipeg Manitoba. |
