Ahmed's passion for automobiles, car racing, and the internet led to the founding of Autofusion with Roy van Beaumont in 1998. Ahmed successfully led the corporation, as its first CEO, from seed financing to profitability. Dr. Ghouri is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist, principal author of 68 scientific publications, and inventor of 8 issued and pending US patents. He received his MD degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he also completed a biomedical engineering/clinical research fellowship. Ahmed has been a Phase III pharmaceutical co-investigator, and his research was instrumental in the FDA approval of the industry-leading drugs flumazenil (Romazicon) and desflurane (Suprane). Dr. Ghouri was formerly an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, and an attending anesthesiologist at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA. He is also a cofounder of SafeMed Inc., a company which develops intelligent patient-safety tools, and whose customers include leading insurers and Fortune 500 companies. |
