Adrian Hartog is senior vice president and general manager Consumer Electronics Group a key organization within the Visual and Media Businesses of AMD. Adrian is responsible for management of the company’s consumer electronics products worldwide including business operations R&D distribution and marketing. He is also the most senior executive in AMD’s Canadian operations and serves as president of AMD Canada.
Adrian came to AMD via the company’s October 2006 acquisition of ATI Technologies Inc. As a member of the company’s original team of engineers Adrian played an instrumental role in building ATI’s world-class research and development program.
Adrian was the lead architect of ATI’s first second and third generation graphics accelerators. From 1998 to 2000 he managed ATI’s semiconductor business facilitating ATI’s rise to world leader in the PC graphics market segment. In 2000 Adrian accepted the task of building ATI’s consumer electronics (CE) business considered key to the future success of the company. The CE businesses are market leaders in integrated digital television processors and media processors for mobile devices such as cell phones. The CE businesses continue to grow based on the strength of the company’s advanced media and image processors.
Concurrent to the positions mentioned Adrian also served as ATI’s chief technology officer defining the company’s direction with respect to development of new technologies.
Adrian holds a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto. He is also the holder of fifteen original patents stemming from his work with graphics accelerators. |
