Adrian Kamalaniikekai Kamali‘i is a partner in Honolulu-based Pae 'Aina Communications, a community, public and government relations firm. A registered lobbyist with the state of Hawai‘i and California, Kamali‘i handles the firm’s government and community relations clients. He is also the chief research analyst for C.K.M. Cultural Resources, L.L.C., a Maui based consulting firm specializing in cultural impact statements.
As the former president and chief executive officer of Hui Ho‘oulu, Inc., a Hawaiian service organization, Adrian gained first hand experience in defining servant leadership to the native Hawaiian community. He also helped to implement a five-year strategic plan to conduct more broad-based outreach to the least accessible native Hawaiian communities on the neighboring islands.
Kamali‘i has served on various boards for educational organizations. As the Pacific Region director for Future 500, Inc. a New York based non-profit corporation, he is responsible for reviewing grant-worthy non-profit organizations in Hawai‘i, Washington and Oregon. Kamali‘i also holds a position on Halau Lokahi New Century Public Charter School’s board of directors.
An apprentice of hula and oli since childhood with Pukalani Hula Hale, under the direction of his maternal grandmother Nina Boyd Maxwell, Kamali'i is fluent in Hawaiian.
At Hawai‘i Pacific University Kamali`i’s undergraduate studies were in political science and international relations. Born and raised in Waiehu, Maui, he is a four-year, 2000 graduate of Kamehameha Schools. Adrian is a strong believer that Pauahi’s Legacy truly lives when those who are recipients make an effort to become servant leaders themselves. |
