. was born in 1957 when founder/inventor Adolf Schoepe decided to bring a better idea to life, a better product to the marketplace.
Long convinced that the existing toilet technology was inefficient and unreliable, Schoepe devised a far more effective fill valve that could readily replace other, less capable mechanisms. It was designed with far fewer moving parts and constructed from premium materials that would outlast corrosion-prone metals.
Most important, it was designed to work with, rather than fight against, water pressure.
Plumbers and do-it-yourselfers soon realized the Fluidmaster valve outperformed any other. It operated smoothly, quickly, quietly. And it stood up to years of flushes, even in hard water.
Why do Fluidmaster parts last so long? Superior engineering and top-grade materials. We keep that spirit of invention alive by always looking (and finding) new ways to make our repair parts work better and last longer.
The popularity of Fluidmaster valves has created a perfect springboard for Fluidmaster's expansion into related product lines. Today there is a Fluidmaster part for nearly every toilet tank problem. Even toilet manufacturers like Kohler, Eljer and Briggs presently rely on Fluidmaster to add value to their own products.
Now, 43 years after surprising the industry with its trailblazing product, Fluidmaster sells more toilet tank replacement valves than any other manufacturer in the world.
World Headquarters and Manufacturing
Completed in July of 1998, Fluidmaster's World Headquarters is a custom-built facility located in San Juan Capistrano, California. It encompasses all facets of our business: administration, engineering, manufacturing and shipping/receiving. Every inch is tailored to each department's particular needs, using the most advanced materials and technology.
The manufacturing plant is a considerable source of pride to the Fluidmaster team. Often ranked among the industry's best, Fluidmaster's ingenious, highly automated assembly system is now more proficient than ever thanks to added space and productivity. The new facility is more than twice the size of the previous plant, allowing high volume orders to be filled with impressive speed.
Design and Testing
Fluidmaster's team of engineers oversees a rigorous product testing program, exposing valves to conditions that greatly exceed typical household circumstances. Up to 20 valves cycle 24-hours a day in the Engineering Lab, sometimes flushing water that is altered to simulate the extreme pH or chlorine levels that exist in other regions. To maintain a competitive stance, Fluidmaster also regularly tests valves from other makers, using the same demanding protocol.
Every valve is tested before shipping. On the production floor, Quality Assurance inspectors also pull valves at random right from the assembly line (every model, every shift) and submit them to the lab for stringent analysis of critical factors like flow and fill rates, open/closed pressures and backflow. Quality is further assured by scrupulous attention to molds and molding processes. Many of the parts that construct our valves are produced by Moldingmaster®, our wholly owned mold operation in Santa Fe Springs, California.
OEM Partners
For well over a decade, Fluidmaster has aligned with major OEM customers who want to increase the value of their toilets by adding the reliability and efficiency of a 'Fluidmaster Flush.'
Our OEM partners have come to depend on the tremendous expertise supplied at all levels-from Engineering and R&D to Quality Assurance and Manufacturing. Rigorous product testing is another Fluidmaster specialty and strategic benefit for OEM customers. Not only does Fluidmaster custom-design valves to OEM specifications, we subject those valves to demanding analysis in a laboratory that has no equal.
Many of our OEM customers also benefit from the flexibility allowed by our dedicated OEM production line. This line permits us to accommodate short runs, color-coding, specialized inserts or labeling. OEM valves are packaged in special containers to curtail damage during shipping.
Code Approvals
Fluidmaster has a strong record of successfully gaining approvals in international markets, currently holding approvals from 15 agencies. Approaching each country's code approval agencies on an individual basis, our Engineering Department supplies tested and certified valves as required for approvals and extensions.
Fluidmaster has never met a code or standard it can't exceed. Highly involved with IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials), Fluidmaster keeps very current with all appropriate code approval agencies, maintaining approvals and can even assist in filing documentation as required for our OEM customers.
