Adel Al-Saleh is president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, responsible for IMS operations in more than 50 countries.
Al-Saleh was named to this position in August 2007, having previously served as IMS’s senior vice president, Sales and Major Countries, EMEA. He joined the company following a 19-year career at IBM, where most recently he was vice president, Sales for IBM Northeast Europe, responsible for business across all industries and brands in the region.
Starting at IBM as a development engineer, Al-Saleh held progressively more responsible positions in product development, global brand management and business management. In 1997, Al-Saleh assumed responsibility for IBM’s Personal Computer business in the European Emerging Markets, covering Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was appointed two years later to the role of vice president of Sales for IBM’s Personal Computer business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2001, Al-Saleh became general manager, Global Wireless Business, with responsibility for the business, applications and services of IBM’s wireless and mobile initiatives around the world. Named vice president, Communications Sector, IBM Americas in 2003, he led IBM’s business in the Telecommunications, Energy and Utilities, Media and Entertainment industries in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
