Adam Laser is a principal in the firm's Real Estate Group. He represents clients in all manner of real estate transactions, including acquisition and disposition of commercial, residential and industrial property; mortgage and mezzanine financing; workouts and restructurings; negotiating and closing transactions; and lease negotiations and drafting. In addition, Mr. Laser has extensive experience working with institutional lenders on transactions as they relate to assisted living facilities, independent care facilities, skilled nursing facilities and hotel financing. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Laser worked on Capitol Hill and directed the Illinois and Indiana field operations for the Midwest office of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a political grass roots organization.

Represented an institutional lender in a $120,000,000 first mortgage loan and mezzanine loan facility secured by 25 retail shopping centers located in 13 different states.Represented an institutional lender in numerous CMBS loan originations, including a $35,000,000 first mortgage loan to a borrower for the refinance of a mixed-use commercial condominium project in Chicago. Advised lender on structuring issues, drafted and negotiated loan documents, and advised lender and securitization counsel on condominium declaration and partial release issues. Represented institutional lenders in numerous hotel financing transactions, including two first mortgage acquisition loans in an aggregate amount of $80,000,000 to a joint venture comprised of two major hotel operators for the refinance and development of the Hilton and Marriott hotels in downtown Hartford, Connecticut and a $36,000,000 first mortgage loan to a private REIT to finance the renovation of a multi-state five hotel portfolio. Advised lenders on structuring issues, air rights leases, development agreements with applicable municipalities, franchise agreements and management agreements.
Represented an institutional investor in several sale-leaseback transactions. Reviewed and negotiated leases, purchase agreements and financing documents. Represented a local developer in its construction loan financing and condominium conversion work. Negotiated third party construction agreements. Represented an institutional lender in a $143,000,000 first mortgage loan to finance the acquisition of eleven congregate care facilities in eight different states.
