Adam J. Newar is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science. He earned an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School in 1987. Adam is the President and Managing Director of Eden Capital Management, an opportunistic long/short equity investment company he founded in April 1996. He has over 20 years of venture capital and investment experience which includes private equity financing, corporate finance advisory assignments, mergers, acquisitions and equity and debt portfolio management. He began his career in New York with Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. in 1983 as a corporate finance analyst and later became an analyst in Dillon Read's venture capital group where he worked on numerous equity financings for technology, health care, and energy companies. He also worked for Orien Ventures, a Connecticut-based venture capital fund. Adam personally invested in Security Bank, N.A., a Houston Texas community bank and later became the Chairman of the Asset/Liability Committee and Chief Investment Officer. Security Bank was subsequently bought by Compass Bancshares. Prior to establishing Eden Capital Management, he served as Chief Financial Officer of HNG Storage Company. He served on the Board of Directors of Fiesta Mart, Inc. where he was Audit Committee Chairman and was Chairman of the 1994 Harvard Business School International Alumni Conference. |
