Aamer S. Ahmed is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. As a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, he focuses his practice on patent prosecution and intellectual property due diligence with particular emphasis on life sciences and on medical devices.
Prior to joining the Firm, Aamer worked as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, examining U.S. and international patent applications relating to iontophoresis; electroporation; infusion and aspiration catheters, needles and pumps; micro and nano-drug delivery systems and diagnostic testing.
His professional memberships include the American Intellectual Property Legal Association, the American Bar Association and the DC Bar Association.
Aamer received both his bachelor’s and masters degrees in bioengineering. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Illinois and before the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
