A.K. Nandakumar is a senior international health economist in RTI’s International Development Group. Also, he is currently professor of the Practice (a university-level position) and associate professor at Brandeis University, and previously served as an assistant professor at Harvard University. Dr. Nandakumar has over 20 years of technical and managerial experience with long-term care financing, aging and its impact on health systems in developing countries, National Health Accounts, and other health care financing issues in the United States and developing countries. Dr. Nandakumar has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on both domestic and international health issues. With his experience in academia, service as a senior government official, extensive domestic and international experience, and interactions with the private sector, he brings a unique perspective on the need to link applied research and technical assistance to the practical problems facing governments. |
