Sh. A.K. Arora belongs to the Indian Telecom Service and joined the Department of Telecom in 1972. He has pursued his BE(Elec) and Masters in Engg. From IIT Roorkee and is a gold medalist for obtaining first position in Elec.Hons.
In his career span of three decades he has held important positions in the Department of Telecom. He has an extensive experience in managing large telecom networks both rural and urban and has been incharge of Operations and Development of telecom facilities in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Bihar telecom circles. He has deep knowledge of landline, cordect, CDMA, GSM, Broadband network and was greatly responsible for implementing the same in Maharashtra and Bihar .
He has an extensive experience in training and HR activities and visited countries like France , Sweden and Norway for recruitment of experts. He has visited USA , UK and Srilanka for the purpose of training and pursued his Diploma in Telecom management from BATH ( UK ) in 1988 on an ITU fellowship.
He has taken over as Executive Director of MTNL from 30-07-2005 after working as Chief General Manager, Bihar Circle, Patna from 29-06-2004.He will be chiefly responsible for handling all telecom activities including Operations, Customer care, Planning, Administration, IT, GSM, WLL, Broadband and introduction of new services for the whole of Delhi. |
