Barbara Bloom was named Senior Vice President, Daytime, CBS Entertainment, in January 2003. She reports to Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment.
In her position, Bloom oversees CBS's top-rated daytime lineup which includes the dramas THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, AS THE WORLD TURNS, GUIDING LIGHT and the popular game show THE PRICE IS RIGHT.
Bloom also oversees the Network's Saturday morning KOL's SECRET SLUMBER PARTY ON CBS lineup of children's programs.
Bloom joined CBS from ABC Entertainment, where she was co-head writer on the daytime drama "Port Charles" since April 2000.
From 1996-2000, Bloom was Vice President, ABC Daytime where she ran the West Coast daytime programming department. During her tenure in this position, she developed and oversaw the drama "Port Charles," supervised all creative aspects of the daytime drama "General Hospital," oversaw the production of the "General Hospital 35th Anniversary Prime Time Special" and was responsible for the concept and execution of the ABC Daytime Press bestseller, Robin's Diary, which spent 13 weeks on the New York Times best seller list.
Bloom joined ABC Daytime in January 1992 as Director of Advertising, after serving as the Creative Account Executive for the ABC Daytime account at Grey Entertainment. That same year she was promoted to Director of Advertising and On-Air Promotion. In 1993, Bloom became ABC's Program Executive on "One Life to Live." A year later, she relocated to the West Coast, where was promoted to Director, Daytime Programming, West Coast.
Bloom received her bachelor of science degree in theater from Skidmore College in New York. |
